Say less!

BIKING

Exercise bikes will give you that work and get that lower body right!  Biking not only burns a lot of calories but will gradually improve your knee flexibility and strength. Just be sure you don’t put pressure on your knees, so stick to no resistance. Oh, and be sure to raise your seat level slightly to decrease any pressure on your kneecaps.

ROWING

Now some of y’all have knee problems where impact is the issue and need to avoid the repetitive hitting of the ground. Well, rowing is it. Rowing is a great way to burn calories without placing stress on your knee joints. Not only will you get a total body burn, you’ll get them abs burning too. Up the intensity by increasing the resistance while maintaining speed for a real cardiovascular challenge.

SWIMMING/POOL EXERCISES

Swimming is actually one of the best forms of exercise for people with knee problems. Not only do you burn a lot of calories in a short amount of time, but you also tone up ALL your muscles. Now, I know some of y’all don’t want to get your hair wet. You can still get a good pool workout doing water aerobics, jogging in place, and doing resistance training using water weights.

WALKING

Don’t sleep on walking. Some y’all think walking isn’t effective cardio but done right, you can some serious calories burn. Plus, studies show walking at least 6,000 steps a day can decrease the pain! But, you should avoid concrete like sidewalks. If you’re an outside walker, walk on grass as the soft ground provides cushion that concrete doesn’t. Now if you are outside, trying increasing your distance and if you’re inside on any treadmill, walk on an incline. Both variations will do your body good.
